Prayer Update
Praises:
- The villagers at Las Barrancas and Las Granadillas are slowly recovering about rebuilding their crops irrigation system to continue to produce income locally so to avoid life threatening migration to Guatemala city, to Mexico and beyond. Those who were helped to rebuild after the earthquake now have a basic shelter of their own.
- The Short Term Mission Teams which came last March were:
- Calvary Church, Muscatine Iowa to the villages of Los Alonzo and Buena Vista among the Mam
- AMSA Baylor University Texas to the village of Chirramos among the Quiche people
- Living Word Chapel, Oracle Arizona to the village of Quilin-novillo, Quiche people among the Cuchumatanes range of mountains
- Mission Community Church, Mesa Arizona to the village of Chirramos among the Quiche. The local volunteer CHEs, the Trainers and STMs enriched the ongoing witnessing by serving together with medical and dental clinics, seminar to pastors and church leaders and youth leaders, helping build the local churches facilities, VBS, home visits, etc.
- Bay Presbyterian Church from Ohio also visited the village of Chirramos to see first hand the long term impact through CHE there. Their scouting STM made them wanting to have our partnership keep growing, Aleluya!
- The administrative issue we had since January 31 when we had to fire the former secretary due to proven unloyalty and betrayal turned out to become a labor claim. Our GCE board has been very supportive and now a labor settlement has been signed preventing us to be taken to court, Glory be to God.
- For the new doors to partnerships the Lord is opening in the USA, in Germany and locally.
- Give glory to the Lord for the CHE Woman trainings in Nicaragua this April 7-20 went very blessed, organized by our CHE Woman Resource Facilitator Darling Lopez. Several villages were ministered by a very precious team: Darling, Pastor Linda Rinzel and Miriam Gomez. over 300 women were trained on prevention and Restoration to victims of Abuse, Rape and domestic Violence. The trainees also learned the crafts to produce income by micro-enterprising.
Requests:
- Pray for the plans to hold the CHE Internship training for the Meso-America CHE Region during the whole month of June (2-29).It will be based in Quetzaltenango with the CHE villages between 100 Kms around for field training. Pray for the finances for scholarships to have the proper number of trainees from across the continent even from Cuba. Pray for the facilitators: the Area Coordinators and CHE Resource facilitators funding needed to come and help us.
- Pray for the veterinary STM led by Tom and Diane Schiefer coming this May 18-25 to follow up with the villages served for 2 years in a row. Our local Teams of CHE Trainers will also take them to a couple of new villages.
- Mission Community Church, (our partner) from Gilbert Arizona will be coming with a filming team in May 10-25 and we need to pray that time will be used the best.
- Pray for Mike Douglas GCE Chairman and Kirk and Gloria Douglas coming in June 8. They will follow up on some water projects and the CHE Center Development.
- Pray for guidance to take some administration steps locally concerning protection of the ministry to prevent future issues with (labor laws) and attacks like the one just resolved.
- Pray for all our supporters who pray and invest in this part of the Kingdom’s ministry.
