Let us introduce to you María and her testimony!
“My name is María Juana Menjivar, I live in the community Rosario Tablón, municipality of Tenancingo, district of Cuscatlán, El Salvador. I would like to share with you that I started visiting the CHE meetings in my community as a result of the home visits by the CHE volunteer ladies.
Then only by curiosity I went to see the workshops but now that I belong to the group it has become a great blessing to me and my household since I have learned some Bible Scriptures through their teachings and also I have learned how to really pray to God because I used not to pray in my life.
Now I can pray even before going to bed thanking God for His Love and Mercy. I love the fellowship among us CHE Women as we help each other as needed. Whenever you can not do something we do help each other.
I had never imagined to still learn so many things which would help in my development as a woman among those: How to Pray, How to read the Bible, how to work a sewing machine, to take measurements to make a skirt and how to cut fabric.
Something very important I have learned in the spiritual is that Forgiveness is key in our lives because the Love of God is so very immense that He does not discriminate us among our personal differences.
I thank God for the CHE Woman trainers and the CHE Trainers for their love and patience with us and I am grateful to Him for having sent to us the right persons to teach us Moral Values and to know that we are special treasure to God, the apple of His eyes and His Children. May God bless you all.”
Last November, the leaders from 13 CDI of Compassion Int completed theTraining of Trainers 1 CHE Seminar/workshop. Pray that they will go on implementing CHE in their area of influence and enrich their ministry in their own communities.
The end results of the CHE Training bear community ownership and involvement as to work together at their own initiative to fix and improve their only access road. Here CHE volunteers and neighbors at Rosario Perico, El Salvador.
In Honduras, the five territories of the Church of God have completed TOT1 also. Now it will be our duty to accompany them in their implementation of CHE to multiply light and truth through Community Health Evangelism. Adolfo Leon our Central America 1 Area Coordinator and co-laborers have done intensive work with our partner denomination. The end result of the CHE Trainings include witnessing one to one!
From Nicaragua we received testimony that the Micro-Enterprises CHE Training continues to grow in fruit. CHE Villagers have been trained to make and sell pizza in their own locations.
In Nicaragua, on the Island of Ometepe, the majority of the people live in conditions like the Gonzales/Hernandez family
But now the Castillo-Herrera family enjoy shelter plus lifted dignity as they have earned it through a minimum of 200 hours of CHE Community volunteer service.
The partnership of 1Mission and GCE is privileged to minister where the need is at!
The Jesus film is been used for a new Saturation CHE Wave across the Region. We are thankful to CRU (Campus Crusade) for the equipment (9 back packs) for our Region (Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Panama and Guatemala).
In Guatemala, Felipe CHE Trainer and Mam Team Coordinator and President of his denomination “Fuente de Vida” plus Chairman of ASODECS (our legal Guatemala name) shares this picture of him with one of the new converts who is been followed up and systematically discipled.
Last November the Littleton Bible Chapel from Colorado worked with the church and CHE community of Cruz de Ajpop among the Mam. Besides working with CHE Women and Children the community now enjoys new fresh water flowing out from the new well! The Lord is Good!
Then, you might remember the Scripture in Genesis 26:18, 19
And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: … And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.
Genesis 26:18,19
After trying to drill 3 times and hitting caves and/or blue granite (impassable with our equipment) the Deer Creek Church/Littleton Colorado water team and Hugo Jr and Quiche Team learned there was an old abandoned spring in a ravine nearby in the CHE Community of San Nicolas on the Cuchumatanes Mountains.
All together villagers and Short Term missionaries and our GCE team started digging until now you see the result in the picture below. The people could not wait to have the system completed as they had been thirsting for years!
At the Quiche CHE village of Villa Hermosa on the Cuchumatanes Mountains at almost 10,000 feet high they are learning to grow produce.
As you may have heard, we had to postpone our Internship Training last November. Instead we did the Microenterprise TOT bringing Marcelo & Silvia Lopez from Medical Ambassadors Argentina to train a dozen of the Nazarene CHE leaders from the Kekchi people plus some Mam and Quiche as well.
At the Quiche CHE village of Villa Hermosa on the Cuchumatanes Mountains at almost 10,000 feet high they are learning to grow produce.
The CHE Training Center continues to develop gradually and steadily according to the resources entrusted to us. The former jungle like area even needs livestock to weed and clear for more productivity. With double purpose of productivity and demonstration for the CHEs from the communities.
Now, for you all to help us in prayer, in giving and continuing to let us be your partners, the picture of our GCE Board as we meet the last week of January in Phoenix.
Remember we are only one of the over 625 organizations implementing CHE around the world in over 125 countries in the movement of the Global CHE Network. We are active part of the One Million Village Challenge in the Network. Dr. Hugo is the Vice-Chairman of the GCN Representative Council.
Another prayer request, for Hugo to be useful for the assignment above.
Be RiCHEly blessed!
Hugo Miriam Gomez for all of us in GCE and the CHE Mesoamerica Region.
